LEAGUE CONSTITUTION

I. OBJECTS
The Crazy Rhythms Fantasy Baseball League is composed of 10 teams playing in a weekly Head-to-Head format and drawing their players from AL Major League rosters only.

II. TEAMS & ROSTERS
Each of the 10 teams in the league will consist of 20 active players. Each team will also have two inactive DL slots for players who have been placed on the DL by their Major League team. The 20 active roster slots break down as follows: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, 3 OF, 2 UT, 6 P, and 5 bench slots. There are no restrictions on what position-eligible players occupy the bench slots..

III. ENTRY FEE
The league fee is $20 due to the commissioner before the start of the annual Auction Draft. Team owners who fail to make this deadline will be prohibited from making any waiver claims until they pay their fee.

IV. PRIZES
Two prizes will be given out at the end of each season. The team with the best record at the end of the regular season will receive $50, while the winner of the playoffs receives $150. Winning the prize for best regular season record does not make a team ineligible for the playoff prize.

V. AUCTION DRAFT
Teams will fill out their rosters during the annual auction draft (usually set about 1-2 weeks before Opening Day). Each team will be given a budget of $260 less the salaries of their kept players to use on draft day. As players are nominated, the team that places the highest bid receive that player.

VI. POSITION ELIGIBILITY
Players can only occupy roster spots for positions at which they are eligible. This league uses ESPN rules to determine eligibility, which are as follows: A player must have played no fewer than 20 games in the previous season, or 10 games in the current season, at a position before he is deemed eligible to play there in fantasy baseball.

VII. STANDINGS & SCORING
Each team will be matched with another team on weekly basis (Monday through Sunday). The starting lineups for each team shall be compared in the following sixteen (16) categories over the course of the week: Batting Average (BA), Runs (R), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), On-base Percentage (OBS), Slugging Percentage (SLG), Stolen Bases (SB), and Caught Stealing (CS) for hitters; and Wins (W), Quality Starts (QS), Earned Run Average (ERA), WHIP, Batting Average Against (BAA), Shutouts (SO), Strikeouts (K), and Saves (SV) for pitchers.

A team receives one win for each category in which it bests its opponent, or a loss otherwise. The team with the best win-loss percentage at the end of the 21 week regular season wins the $50 prize. The top four (4) teams are then seeded for the playoffs (1 versus 4; 2 versus 3) in which they will compete in the same format above, only instead of one-week match-ups, playoff match-ups will be two weeks in length and single elimination.. After two rounds, the winning team is crowned as champion and the winner of the $150 prize.

VIII. PLAYER SALARIES
The salary of a player is determined by the time and means of his acquisition (be that from an Auction Draft or a Waiver Claim) and does not change unless the player becomes a free agent. If a free agent is signed or resigned during a season, his salary will be determined by the highest bidder in the Waiver Claim process.

IX. STATS
This league uses statistics as gathered by ESPN. Disputes should be taken up them and not the commissioner.

X. WAIVERS & FAABs
Each team will be given a Free Agent Acquisition Budget (FAAB) of $100 immediately after the completion of the draft for the purposes of bidding on available players in the Free Agent pool as the season progresses. To acquire an available player, a team can place a bid on him using the FAAB (minimum $1). Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday the system will process all bids on available players and award the highest bidders with the desired players. Teams can make a total of 50 roster moves over the course of a season (include waiver claims and trades).

The following players are considered in the Free Agent pool and may be picked up at any time:

  • Active major league players in the AL not on any other team roster.
  • Any minor league player promoted to the major league roster (timeliness of availability post-call-up is up to ESPN).
  • Players traded into NL from the AL.

Players traded from the AL to the NL will be deemed ineligible to accumulate stats for their owners. They can (and should) be safely dropped immediately after being traded.

XI. TRADES
Teams can trade players at will until the trade deadline (set annually, but usually 1-2 weeks after the MLB Trade Deadline. After that time, no trades will be allowed. Teams can make a total of 50 roster moves over the course of a season (include waiver claims and trades).

XII. SALARIES & KEEPERS
Each team is allowed to keep up to seven (7) players at the end of each season. Each kept player retains his salary as per the Draft or Waivers; however, a $2 fee (per kept player) will be added to his salary each year he is kept. The total value of each team’s kept players will then be deducted from their respective budget (of $260) for the next Auction Draft.

XIII. GOVERNANCE & RULE CHANGES
The league can vote for a rule change at any point during the season. No rule changes will go into effect during a season; all changes determined by the league will take effect in the following season.

Team owners may propose rule changes to the commissioner at any point during the year. The commissioner determines whether or not to put the motion to a vote. Should the motion go to a vote, the league will be able to vote online (on the league homepage) until all owners have voted (1 vote per team) or until 4 weeks have passed, whichever comes first. If all teams vote, a simple majority is all that is needed to pass a motion; if not, the commissioner is to his or her discretion to determine what, if any changes shall go into effect.
